Day 14. How to hire

Here are the ideas that I came up with.

Hire people smarter than yourself

Hire for gaps on the team.

Hire for Potential

Hire for drive

Hire for Fit.

Hire for Diversity, not just in skills, but mindsets.

It is pretty impossible to do all of these things for each person you hire, but it is a framework you can think about when writing a job description  or when asking questions to the candidate.  I will be working on one of these next week, but my company gives us off the next 10 days, so reading, and relaxing in in my future.
